Rigidity and Strength
With a tool as precise as the Domino tenon joiner, it is
critical that mortise positioning be accurate every time.
Every aspect of the SCG-10 was driven by rigidity and
strength as the goal.
- The sliding dovetail clamping system is designed to
allow free lateral movement during adjustment, but to
fully retain the stop assemblies no matter how loose
the clamp. The dovetail clamp firmly locks the stops
in position after adjustment.
- When the two halves of the dovetail saddle are
tightened down, the dovetail base is pulled firmly
inward, so the shoulder of the base registers off
the face of the saddle.
- The compound clamping action increases the
frictional surface area for a more rigid hold. As
the clamp is tightened, the frictional area includes
the normal dovetail taper, but also the shoulder.
- The SCG-10 has Rock Solid Stop Arms.
- The pivot pin is high-grade stainless steel with a
3-point contact area and is hard pressed through the
body of the stop arm.
- The lengthy contact area between the extra thick
stop arm and yoke prevents any lateral deflection.
