SCG Guide Features
Self Centering Guide
  • The SCG-10 guide is easily installed and removed from your Domino with two captive thumbscrews (included) using the existing mounting holes on the bottom of your joiner. No modification of your joiner is required.
  • Adjustable Centering Plates align the SCG-10 to your Domino for repeatable installation. These centering plates adjust sideways to capture the base of the Domino, ensuring that it is positioned exactly the same every time.
  • The stop arms are infinitely adjustable from 3/8" to 2-5/8" from the centerline of the mortise. This means you can place a tenon in the center of board widths from 3/4" to 5-1/4".
  • The stop arms are easily flipped forward for use, and flipped back when not in use. Ball detents hold the stops in the up or down position.
  • The clamping thumbscrews are custom made from high impact plastic for a comfortable grip, and a steel threaded insert for long life and reliability.
  • All aluminum components are precision milled from aviation grade aluminum and Sulfuric Anodize Per MIL-A- 8625 Type II Class 2 standards.

Rigidity and Strength
With a tool as precise as the Domino tenon joiner, it is critical that mortise positioning be accurate every time. Every aspect of the SCG-10 was driven by rigidity and strength as the goal.
  • The sliding dovetail clamping system is designed to allow free lateral movement during adjustment, but to fully retain the stop assemblies no matter how loose the clamp. The dovetail clamp firmly locks the stops in position after adjustment.
    • When the two halves of the dovetail saddle are tightened down, the dovetail base is pulled firmly inward, so the shoulder of the base registers off the face of the saddle.
    • The compound clamping action increases the frictional surface area for a more rigid hold. As the clamp is tightened, the frictional area includes the normal dovetail taper, but also the shoulder.
  • The SCG-10 has Rock Solid Stop Arms.
    • The pivot pin is high-grade stainless steel with a 3-point contact area and is hard pressed through the body of the stop arm.
    • The lengthy contact area between the extra thick stop arm and yoke prevents any lateral deflection.
